Even though I'd rather be at the hospital right now, this weather is absolutely beautiful. The trees look so amazing! It's so still and calm out because no one is leaving their houses. And we feel blessed right now because we still have power. Here's the view from our house.
The snow falling last night:
Our backyard this morning - the tree we just had trimmed
Nicholas showing off a piece of ice. The SUV behind him had chains on and had a lot of problems getting up our hill. There's no way we're leaving today.

Here's our street.
The ice on our bushes

Looks the same at our house! I am truly sorry you cannot get out to see Jenny...I know it must be killing you! It will kill me not to see Noelle so I can only imagine! The sheets of ice over the snow is crazy! We brought the cats out onto the snow and they didn't even make a dent..not heavy enough to break the ice! In our front yard near the house I stepped into snow up to my knee!!! Hopefully this will all clear by christmas! I have to see one of my neices on Christmas!!!!
Depending on the airlines, I may not make it back for Christmas. Ugh. Southwest has canceled all the ones going into Portland today and yesterday...and of course I happened to book my flight at the latest time on Monday! (Even if I get to the airport, I may actually get stuck there...my parents may call in a favor with a family friend to pick me up, depending.) I want a white Christmas, but only if I can actually be there to enjoy it!
That sucks so much you can't visit Jenny and meet Emily! I'm glad she got to the hospital before things really got hairy with the roads, though!
