Mother's Day

Happy Mother's day to all the moms and moms-to-be! My friend Kiyo shared with me the original intent of Mother's Day recently. During the American Civil War, social activist Julia Ward Howe organized it as a way to unify women against war and promote nonviolence. Knowing that makes the day a little more special for me.

Ellen made me two Mother's Day presents. The first with the help of Nicholas, the other with the help of daycare:

Someone at church this morning said Ellen is "fluffy." Ha! That's one way to put it!

Aw, nice gifts!

Ellen looks very cute! Such a nice smile. Looks like her blue eyes are going to stick around, too.

Hope you had a good first mother's day!
